1917
On Octobre 2., 1917 the shoe factory was established by Alfred Ammann-Bodmer.
Coming from a shoemaking family and possessing a good measure of entrepreneurial boldness together with the type ot optimism which is essential in times of difficulty, he devotes himself to the production of slippers, hand-made, durable and sturdy with real leather soles in the „Goodyear“ look and his products soon find a ready market.
1945
Kurt and Hugo Ammann take over the assets and liabilities and turn the company into a limited partnership.
1949
The year 1949 brought a severe loss for the entire company family, because after a long and serious illness the senior chef, Alfred Ammann-Bodmer, left his full life.

Following the death of Kurt Ammann-Bächli, Hugo Ammann-Spühler takes over the reins and adapts hte production programme to the new market requirements. The product range now includes special leather shoes as well as slippers.

1958
Purchase of a disused factory and further enlargement of the production area.
1967
50th anniversary of Ammann Shoe Factory. Official opening of the Ammann building which is still in existence today.
1978
Rolf Ammann-Fuhrmann takes over the company and gives it the status of a limited company. The principal shareholder of the shoe factory Ammann & Co AG is Rolf Ammann, a minority shareholding belongs to his son Marc.
Further product streamlining. Closure of stitching operations in Marbach, Sempach and Kirchrued, increase in production of uppers in Oberentfelden. Production includes safety shoes for industry, high quality military boots as well as heavy-duty shoes for hunting and agricultural work.
1991
Cooperation agreement with Bally Shoes, Schönenwerd. Transfer of the Ammann Shoe Factory (production) to Schönenwerd; sales office and company headquarters are renovated and today accomodate the Ammann Center: trade and industry, services and entertainment companies.
1992
75 years after its foundation the company shows itself to be an organisation able to adapt flexibly and creatively to the prevailing circumstances and, with its particular range, has developed a clear advantage over its competitors.

1995
This year the company celebrates two anniversaries:
Rolf Ammann’s 25th year in the company and over 100'000 pairs of Michel Jordi – Ethno shoes sold.
2002
The Sauber-Petronas RaceLine
On 1 June 2002 was the start of the Sauber Petronas RaceLine Shoes collection in the presence of Ex-Miss Switzerland Mahara McKay.
